Forest photography is one of my favourite types of photography. There is something about forests that I have loved since I can remember… the smell of the earth, the sound of the wind whispering through the trees, the amazing colours. Luckily for me, there are some incredible forests in Cape Town and surrounds.
In Cape Town, you will find major forests such as Newlands Forest in Newlands, Cecilia Forest in Constantia, De Hel, also in Constantia, Tokai Forest in Tokai, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Newlands, and Silvermine Nature Reserve near Cape Point to name just a few. Whether you consider yourself a hiker or more of a slow walker, exploring these nature hotspots is a must.
Forest Photography Prints
The Prints by Roxb forest photography print series includes two circular art posters. Both of these photographs were taken in a magical forest found on a private estate in Piket-bo-Berg, which lies on the top of a mountain pass in the Western Cape region of the Boland.
This area lies about an hour and a half outside of Cape Town. The forest is privately owned, but I was lucky enough to have the chance to explore it as I had family who were staying on the property. The forest was located at the end of a long path that navigated past an orchard and meadow. There is a breath-taking pool with a small waterfall, which could be accessed after a somewhat challenging hike. It really is the most serene and lovely place.
Bring a bit of that serenity and peace into your home with two forest photography prints showcasing the lush greenery of a hidden forest. Both of these prints are available to purchase online in high resolution digital download form. You can print them at home or take it to your local print shop for a high quality large scale print.
