I love taking cow photos. In the Western Cape Province of South Africa, where I live, cows are a common sight on any road trip. For almost three years, I lived in a small town in the Boland, which is prime farming country. The cows there range in all shapes, sizes and colours – including the famous Nguni cows with their gorgeous mottled skins.
The everyday cows however are usually black or brown. In a field close to my former home in the country, I would often see young cows that summered in the open fields over the hot months from November to February. They were fun to watch, often kicking up the dirt and getting playful towards the evening as the weather began to cool down a bit.
